Daily Blog from the Bahamas Speed Week Revival

Eighteen Formula Kart Stars old and present drivers will be participating in the Bahamas Speed Week Revival, combining both education and racing through a mixture of school visits and demonstration events on the islands of the Bahamas.

While the very first World Karting Championship may have been held in Nassau, capital city of the Bahamas, in 1959, currently there is no karting industry to speak of in the renowned tourist and holiday destination. However with a twelve day trip packed full of racing, demonstrations and work with local schools, FKS and the organisers of the Bahamas Speed Week Revival are hoping to change that.

Eight drivers from the 2012 MSA British Cadet Championship andย ten Senior Rotax drivers plus their mechanics will leave the UK on November 23rdย and will spend the following two weeks bringing the kind of excitement and professionalism associated with the pinnacle of British karting to a completely new audience.

Throughout the drivers trip, resident FKS commentator Henry Beaudette will be bringing us daily updates which will be posted below along with pictures of the karts and drivers in action throughout the entire Bahamas Speed Week.
