JOHNNY HERBERT announced as new FKS President

It was announced over the last couple of days that Sky Sports F1 pundit Johnny Herbert has taken over from Anthony Hamilton as the new FKS President. Johnny who is one of the most loved personalities around the paddock should bring both a wealth of contacts and experience to FKS, which will benefit our future talents hugely.

Johnny has a passion for motorsport, especially karting, and it was the new format that seemed to draw Jonny in to the championship even more! As well as that he understands that in the current era, education is very important and that is our main ethos here at FKS.

With Johnny now President we have a strong representation within the F1 paddock and furthermore Johnny is hopefully going to be joining us at Wigan to have a watch and meet the drivers.

On the announcement Johnny commented, “I am absolutely delighted to be President of Formula Kart Stars. I have always maintained that karting is an essential route for anyone who has an eye on a career in Motorsport and FKS is a great new way of competitive karting. The format means that every driver on the FKS grid understands that he or she has a chance winning on merit alone.

The modern Grand Prix driver has to contend with a lot more than just driving a car and Formula Kart Stars addresses the very important subject of education, a very real and essential part of the contemporary driver’s skill package.”

FKS Chairman Carolynn Hoy also added “I am delighted that Johnny is now FKS President. It is of course well known that Johnny loves his karting and will take every opportunity to get behind the wheel of one.

Sadly most of the dates clash this year with Johnny’s schedule but he will try and get along to watch at Wigan.”
