FKS Cadet star Harley Keeble wins Rookie of the Year Award

On Wednesday 9th December it was announced that our very own FKS Cadet driver Harley Keeble had won the inaugural Karting magazine Rookie of the Year Award!

After making a shortlist of 15 drivers, Karting magazine’s panel of judges decided who the winner would be along with three highly commended drivers. It was revealed in their latest issue that the winner was Harley Keeble after his fantastic performances in the FKS Championship this year.

Harley won a free season in the championship this year after becoming the British Champion in the Bambino class last year. Having only passed is ARKS test in February Harley had just over two months to prepare for the season but came in looking like a Cadet veteran.

Throughout the season he ran toe to toe with the likes of Taylor, Dodds and Keneally. A racing incident meant he missed out on a podium at Nutts Corner and even led the last race at GYG. It was those performances at such a young age that helped him to pick up the award and he was delighted to hear the news.

FKS Managing Director Sebastian King commented: “It was great to receive the fantastic news that Harley had been crowned Karting magazine Rookie of the Year. He has been a joy to watch this season and continued to surprise the paddock every time he went out. After some unfortunate luck this year it was great to see his performances recognised by Karting magazine. He’s a deserved winner and I’m sure this will help in his bid for sponsorship next year. I’d like to also congratulate Dexter on being recognised as ‘Highly Commended’ in the Driver of the Year Award and congratulations to all of our drivers and partners who were nominated across the seven categories.”

On behalf of all at Formula Kart Stars we’d like to congratulate Harley on winning the award and look forward to seeing him competing again with us in 2016.
