The Welsh rain may have stayed away as Formula Kart Stars’ weekend at Glan Y Gors came to an end but it certainly wasn’t like a summer afternoon on another cold and windy day for the drivers.

Josh White – Junior Max 1st

“It was a big improvement over Saturday and we found a lot in the kart set-up. In the final Sam [Marsh] was catching me quite quickly and wouldn’t let me have an easy win so it was a good end to the weekend.”

Sam Marsh – Junior Max 2nd

“It was loads better today; we tried a lot of things and changed a lot of bits on the kart, the jet, tyre pressures and lots more. I qualified second, I should have put in on pole but I didn’t get the right chase and let Josh [White] chase me round, which was my fault. In heat one I got smashed off again and got fourth. Heat two was better and I got third and the final was better again. I led it for about 4 or 5 laps then Josh came by with about 10 to go and the gap stayed the same. I pushed him for the first 5 laps but then he pulled away by a couple of kart lengths over the next six laps and I took second. Overall it was a good weekend because a few of the main rivals have either been excluded or not had good finishes so I’m very happy.”

Josh Collings – Senior Max 3rd

“I had a problem and had to change chassis due to a bit of a driver error earlier on and I thought that I coped quite well and was able to get back through the pack and salvaged third.”

Rory Hudson – Cadet Honda 1st

“I just didn’t want Elliott [Harvey] to be in the lead so I tried to stay in the lead as long as possible but then on the penultimate lap Elliott got me and started defending. By the last lap I just went for a lunge and got through and I did it. I was ecstatic and I couldn’t believe I had done it. It was amazing.”

Connor McCarthy – Cadet Honda 3rd

“I started fifth and was going down into the chicane and then Danny Harrison and Mark Kimber spun off and that gave me my third place and I just managed to hold onto it until the chequered flag.”

Lando Norris – Mini Max 1st

“We came in thinking we could get one place better than Saturday and we did. It was a really hard race and I could never pull away from anyone because the tow is quite big down the straight here but the kart was good through the middle section and that was all I needed to do was pull away in the middle. I knew that if I had a big enough gap that even if he [Connor Mills] caught me down the straight I could pull away again. I defended most of the race and it was a good race with Connor behind me. He wasn’t aggressive at all; it was a really good race.”

Connor Mills – Mini Max 2nd

“It was even harder than Saturday and I had to come back from sixth because we had a little incident but I managed to get second so it was a good comeback.”
