TAG Heuer Professional Timing, the timekeeping division of the renowned TAG Heuer Swiss brand, is proud to announce that from 2010 onwards it has been selected as the official timing partner for Formula Kart Stars.

Formula Kart Stars prides itself in being the premier training grounds for aspiring single seater and sports car drivers. The Championship was established back in 1996 when McLaren boss Ron Dennis, Mercedes boss Norbert Haug and karting legend Martin Hines got together to create a junior karting championship which would provide a path for young drivers who wished to pursue a career in motorsport.

Today FKS is supported by Formula One Management and is committed to the road to Formula 1 through racing and education.

President and founder of Supersport David Hutchinson says that “this is the ideal opportunity for us to work with a series that not only provides an exciting and competitive season but also puts back into the industry at the ground roots level the commitment and enthusiasm to encourage and establish new talent for the future”

Carolynn Hoy of Formula Kart Stars confirms that “the agreement with the Timing division of the leader in prestigious sports watches and chronographs since 1860 is an important step to maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the series which already has the support of Mr. Bernie Ecclestone and the patronage of Lewis Hamilton”  with the president of The Formula Kart Stars club being Mr. Anthony Hamilton.

Jean-Christophe Babin , the TAG Heuer’s CEO says : “ This partnership also represents an opportunity for TAG Heuer to demonstrate the significant similarities between the values inherent to the UK premier Karting championship those conveyed by its own corporate philosophy made of passion, precision and mental strength. Without absolute timekeeping precision to 1/1,000th of a second the competition simply would not take place “.

TAG Heuer is the world master of precision even having the technology to measure and display to 1/10,000th of a second, as in the Race of Champions 2006, where it’s timing technology recorded the closest gap ever in any racing competition at 2/10,000th of a second difference.

TAG Heuer’s partner SuperSport will supply timing and scoring services to Formula Kart Stars. The championship will be timed by the TAG Heuer by Chronelec ProTime Elite decoder and managed by the TAG Heuer Wintime F1 software. Timing data for all sectors times will be provided by the highly innovative TAG Heuer by Chronelec Distant decoders.
