Snetterton 300 Circuit in Norfolk hosts the resumption of the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season this coming weekend, 11th/12th August, where championship front-runner Daniel Lloyd aims to get the second half of the campaign off to a successful start.

Buoyed by last week’s news of the decision by Porsche GB to extend its support of his racing for a second year in 2013, the Huddersfield sportsman is determined to challenge for his second victory of the season on his first ever race outing on the East Anglian track’s 2.97-mile configuration.

Currently fifth in the championship, with a total of three podiums to his credit so far including his sensational wet-weather race win at Thruxton in April, the 20-year-old has been a revelation so far in his maiden year of Porsche racing and is focused on an even better final 10 rounds.

“It’s easy to forget we’re only halfway through the season, so much has happened during the first half”, said Daniel, “Absolutely anything can happen in the championship with 10 races still to go and I’ve definitely grown as a driver over the last couple of months. There’s no reason at all we shouldn’t have a strong start to the second half of the year, I really want another win as soon as possible!”

During the lengthy seven week break since the previous event at Croft back in June, the Team Parker Racing driver has been keeping incredibly busy and enjoyed two of the biggest moments of his racing career so far over the summer.

First representing Porsche GB at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the TNT Post, TSD, Creechurch Private Wealth, Propack and TPA Yorkshire-backed racer was then given the chance to debut in the FIA Formula One World Championship-supporting Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup as part of the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone.

Now though, all attention and focus is once again on Porsche Carrera Cup GB with rounds 11 and 12 of the season at Snetterton this weekend marking the start of a two and a half month run-in to the championship finale at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit on 20th/21st October.

“It’s great we’re back racing, it feels like ages since we were in action at Croft so I can’t wait to be back in the car this weekend”, added Daniel, “I’ve not raced on the 300 Circuit at Snetterton and I’ve only been round there once in the dry during the pre-season – we did test there last week but it was wet! Whatever the weather does, we should be quick and I’m confident of a strong weekend.”

Following free practice at Snetterton this Friday, 10th August, qualifying for rounds 11 and 12 will take place on Saturday, 11th August, at 14.00. Both races will be contested on Sunday, 12th August, at 10.25 and 16.10 with the second encounter to be screened live on Freeview, digital satellite and cable channel ITV4, in High Definition on ITV4 HD and streamed online at www.itv.com/btcc
