19 year old Brunel Motorsport Engineering Student David Pittard further stamped his authority on the Fuchs Titan Race MR2 Series last weekend at Snetterton Circuit with another 100% record over his rivals.

His remarkable talent behind the wheel was displayed right from the start as the Letchworth based driver took pole position by over 3 seconds in his Montana Motorsport prepared MR2.

“I have driven here at the new Snetterton 300 circuit before in Sports 2000, where I won by 38 seconds, which I think helped me. The car felt really well balanced and gave me the confidence to push very hard. A couple of times I had some massive sideways moments in qualifying, just trying to get that bit more out the car, and had a massive oversteer moment around the newly re developed Coram Curve!”

Safe in the knowledge that he had established the optimum race setup, Pittard headed out into race one confident of a win in front of the large Norfolk based crowd. A slight scare off the line saw the second placed driver inch ahead of Pittard, but through gritted determination the young race ace held on through turn 1 to retain the lead.

“I managed to get a good break through the first few corners and knew I had mega pace compared to others so just concentrated on going forward, pulling out a gap then controlling the pace”

In the end it was another dominant performance, with a lights to flag victory by a little over 18 seconds ahead of this Montana Motorsport team mate, and impressively setting the fastest lap of the race by over 2.5 seconds.

“It was really good to bring the Hertfordshire Business Support Scheme MR2 home first in front of everyone” Smiled David “ The car was spot on, and it was just a matter of keeping out of trouble once I had established a good lead. Setting the fastest lap of the race is always a great target for me too.

Once the lights went out for race 2, it was clear that David’s unbeaten run wasn’t going to finish anytime soon. A great start meant he had a good lead from the chasing pack and once again established a healthy lead.

“Again I had a great get away and luckily for me my closest rival got over taken and scrapped for the first half lap, so I managed to pull a massive gap and just control it, not pushing the equipment or the tires”

His consistency and raw pace saw Pittard set a new lap record before crossing the line 17 seconds clear of his nearest rival, rounding off another perfect weekend and the 5th 1-2 finish of the year for the Clifton based team.

“Again massive thanks to Montanna Motorsport and my Dad for preparing the car perfectly this weekend, and in giving me a brilliant race winning car! This weekend’s results sets me up brilliantly for an action packed July, where I will be racing alongside the World Touring Car Championship and the FIA Formula 2 Championship!” commented David

David will next be out in a Swift DB2 in the Sports 2000 Championship looking to get his Championship lead back after missing a round earlier in the year. Donington Park will host rounds 3 and 4 of the championship supporting the WTCC and only a week after that going to the legendary Brands Hatch GP Circuit in the MR2 championship to support the Formula 2 championship.

2 massive rounds, 2 massive exposure opportunities and David will be on form for 2 more wins!

David would like to thank Montana Motorsport, his Dad and all his sponsors, Podium PR, Baileys Travel Bedford and GDSP Ltd and Herts Business Support Scheme for their continued support.
